April saw Mathew playing one of his dream roles; 'Moritz' in 'Spring Awakening' the musical in Manchester. Spring Awakening won a wealth of Tony and olivier awards when it was first released.

Peter Pan The Movie 2003
Mathew was personally selcted by PJ Hogan to appear in this feature film after he saw him in 'Oliver! The Musical' in Sydney. This $100 million dollar movie is still shown extensively on TV and Mathew continues to be recognised for this work. Available on DVD

In 2002 Mathew played 'The Artful Dodger' for Cameron Mackintosh. Mathew was offered a role in 'Peter Pan The Movie' after being seen by PJ Hogan in 'Oliver!' and so Mathew sadly Mathew couldn't complete the Australasian Tour of 'Oliver!'.
